This is the terrifying "zombie-slayer" knife a teenager has been jailed for carrying in Ealing .

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested in October last year after he was seen carrying the weapon.

He was spotted with the blade among a large group of people fighting in Kenilworth Gardens, Southall , the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

The weapon, measuring seven inches in length with a three inch blade, was found abandoned nearby following the incident.

The teenager was found guilty of possessing an offensive weapon at Ealing Magistrates Court on February 14.

He was also found guilty of using threatening and abusive words, before he was sentenced to an 18-month detention and training order at the same court on Tuesday (April 4).

The court gave him a three-year criminal behaviour order.

This will ban him from entering Ealing unless a pre-arranged appointment is made.

The order also bans him from:

  • Carrying any knife or bladed article.
  • Associating with named gang members.
  • Carrying any item associated with drug use or drug dealing.
  • Carrying more than £50 cash.
  • Carrying more than one mobile phone or SIM car or a mobile phone not registered in his name.

Neil Hoodles, from the CPS, said: "The 'zombie-slayer'-style knife in this case was seven inches in length with an extra three inch blade.

"These weapons - and the sale of them - have been banned for a reason and if you carry one you will be prosecuted."
