A teenager from Wembley has been charged following a stabbing at Westfield in Shepherd's Bush .

Javarni English, of Perrin Road, Wembley, was charged on Saturday (August 6) with GBH (grievous bodily harm), affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police said he appeared in custody at a London magistrates' court that day, but they were unable to confirm which court he had appeared at or the result of the hearing.

A second man arrested on the day of the stabbing has been bailed to return pending further enquiries.

Emergency services, including London's Air Ambulance, were scrambled to the shopping centre on Friday (August 5) at around 2pm to reports of a stabbing.

A man in his 20s was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital with injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Police could not say on Sunday (August 7) whether he remained in hospital or had been discharged.

Part of the Westfield was cordoned off for several hours on Friday afternoon as police investigated, but the shopping centre fully reopened that evening.

It was the latest in a string of knife attacks that week, including fatal stabbings in Southall , Kilburn and Russell Square .

Stabbing victims were also taken to hospital following incidents in Uxbridge on Tuesday (August 2) and Wealdstone on Saturday (August 6).
