A man has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Lance Scott Walker, who was stabbed to death in Hayes.

Idris Hassan, also 18, of Gledwood Gardens, Hayes, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court later on Wednesday (August 17).

Mr Walker was found by police in Gledwood Gardens, close to the junction with Gledwood Drive, on Monday (August 15) afternoon.

The teenager was treated by paramedics but they were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 4.40pm.

A witness described on Tuesday how she had seen Mr Walker lying in the street with his shirt off and "covered in blood".

She said the street had been almost empty at the time but her screams had brought other residents out of their houses.

An investigation was carried out by officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Mr Walker's death came less than a fortnight after a young man was stabbed multiple times in Uxbridge town centre in what police described as a "devastating" attack.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with that assault.
