A teenager has been arrested in north London on suspicion of spreading terrorist publications.

On Tuesday morning (September 26), officers from Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command arrested the 19-year-old man at an address in the capital.

He was arrested on suspicion of dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Police officers detained him under PACE and he has been taken to a south London police station where he currently remains in police custody.

The address in north London continues to be searched by Metropolitan Police officers as enquiries continue.

A spokesman from the force confirmed the arrest is not connected to the Parsons Green investigation.
