An 18-year-old man has been sentenced for possession of heroin with intent to supply.

Youssef Chellali, of Cambridge Road, Harrow, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a controlled drug at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday (April 20).

At around 4.45pm on August 14 last year, police spotted Chellali on Carlton Avenue. When he saw police he ran into the car park of Hereford House, upstairs onto the raised platform and across to Exeter Court.

He was pursued by police and detained after a short chase.

Officers searched Chellali and found a cling film wrap of uncut heroin in his shoulder bag. Chellali was arrested due to the amount and the uncut state of the heroin and was charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Chellali was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday to 30-months imprisonment and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £120.

Speaking after the sentencing, Luke Follows, Brent investigating officer, said: “We will continue to strive to rid our streets of drug dealing that blights our communities and results in bringing misery to families of users.

“This dealer is now off the streets for the foreseeable future. I urge anyone who has information in relation to drug dealing to contact police so we can make communities safer.”
