A man followed and sexually assaulted a teenage girl in Twickenham on Monday morning (July 17), according to police.

The 15-year-old girl was walking towards Chertsey Road by St Margaret’s Roundabout when she noticed a man was following her around 10.10am.

Police said he followed her as she walked along Winchester Road, Drummonds Place, and past Beaconsfield Road and grabbed her as she reached Marble Hill Gardens.

The man turned her around so she was facing him and then sexually assaulted her but ran off when a member of the public spotted him.

The girl was not injured in the attack but neighbourhood policing teams have carried out additional patrols in the area.

No arrests have been made and police are appealing or members of the public to help find the attacker.

The man is described as being white, 50-years-old and around 5ft10, of medium build.

He was wearing a light brown jacket and dark brown trousers and was clean shaven with short grey hair.
