A man has been charged after gunshots were heard in Northolt.

Tarrell Martins, 18, of Stiven Crescent, Harrow, appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (September 13) charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or alarm.

It follows an incident in Oldfields Circus on Sunday (September 11) when armed police were seen in the area after a "firearm was discharged".

No one was found with gunshot injuries.

Martins was remanded in custody and will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on October 11.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command investigated the incident

Just before Christmas last year, a restaurant owner was given a suspended prison sentence for waving an imitation shotgun at terrified passers-by outside his Rabbit restaurant in Chelsea.

He was branded 'stupid' by the judge, and was also told to carry out community work.
