Prospective homebuyers are invited to preview plans for housing at South Ruislip's 'new town centre', after the first batch released for sale were snapped up in day.

Bellway Homes North London sold 32 homes in less than 24 hours at their Avedis development on Saturday (April 21) on the former Arla Dairy site, next to a new superstore and cinema complex.

The speedy sales come after 73 flats in Uxbridge town centre were sold in just five hours for over £16 million, ahead of construction.

The Arla site development includes a new Asda store and petrol station, an 11 screen Cineworld cinema complex and five restaurants, as well as a total of 163 one, two, or three-bedroom homes.

Those who missed out will have a chance to consider another selection of two bedroom homes, set to be released mid-late June, with guide prices starting from £380,000.

Oliver Weston, development surveyor at Citygrove Securities, which manages the overall site, said: “This site was vacant for many years and needed to be brought back into active use to benefit local residents.

“The leisure facilities will provide opportunities for families to eat, shop and watch a movie without having to travel further afield.

“Importantly, the scheme has been designed around significant new public realm, to provide a focal point for the town centre of South Ruislip."

'Homes here are selling fast'

Avedis, meaning ‘brings good news’, will become a vibrant and thriving place to live in West London, ideal for professionals, first-time buyers, downsizers and investors alike, looking for a modern property within convenient proximity of central London, says Bellway Homes.

Kevin Bowles, Bellway North London sales manager, said: “We believe that it is not just great homes that creates buyer appeal.

“Location, amenities and leisure pursuits all add up to create a desirable home. By regenerating an area and providing home owners with leisure facilities, the area can really thrive again.

“Avedis offers a winning formula, with stylish new homes, and a selection of enviable amenities on the doorstep.

“We urge those looking for a new home in the area, to come and see for themselves what Avedis has to offer, as homes here are selling fast."

South Ruislip will home to a 'new town centre' as of Spring 2017

All units at the retail and entertainment complex were pre-let before work began.

Foundations are nearing completion and steel work is almost complete and on track for the shops, restaurants and cinema to be open in spring 2017.

There is also extensive landscaping work for a central, open public piazza with seating and new off-road walking and cycling routes.

Residents have previously spoken out at the level of traffic in South Ruislip, in light of a new Aldi store being built.
