A student who finished his Tesco microwave meal was horrified to find a large chunk of an elastic band in his cottage pie.
Daniel Amson furiously tweeted to the supermarket giant after making the discovery, only to find they could not investigate further because he had disposed of the packaging.
He had picked up the meal from the Hammersmith Road Tesco express on Monday before finding the elastic piece inside the pie.
"I found it whilst I was chewing" Daniel told getwestlondon. "It made me want to vomit."
The PR and Advertisement undergraduate told the Tesco Twitter team his flat-mates had thrown away the packaging, although he had kept the receipt.
However, after sharing this information with them, they replied, "without packaging, we're unable to investigate" or send it off unless he could retrieve the cardboard exterior.
Daniel said he was "very disappointed and feel sick that [he] ate it all".
Tesco Ltd has been approached and said it will look further into the matter before commenting.
