Storytellers entertained young patients when they visited Royal Brompton Hospital.

The charity Starlight’s Storytellers Tour visited the kids on Thursday (April 23) as part of a national tour which will see them 96 children’s wards across the country.

Actors from The Panto Company performed Beauty and The Beast, The Jungle Book and The Wizard of Oz the Rose Ward, which is the Sydney Street hospital’s children’s ward.

Lizzie Biggart, senior nurse in children’s services, said: “At Royal Brompton we provide specialist, complex care for children who may need to stay here for long periods of time, or who require regular visits to have various procedures.

"Providing entertainment such as the Starlight Storytellers is a wonderful way of distracting them and giving them a well-earned break from tests and medical procedures. The children had a brilliant time watching and joining in with the colourful performances.”
