Flights at Heathrow Airport and services to and from west London have been delayed as Storm Imogen reaches the city .

Weather warnings are in place for the city and those who need to travel should plan their journey ahead of time.

A spokesperson from Highways England said: "If you do have to make a journey by road be prepared, plan your journey in advance and check the latest weather conditions along your route.

"Be aware of sudden gusts of wind, and give high-sided vehicles, caravans, and motorbikes plenty of space."

Heathrow Airport

The airport told holiday goers to expect "some disruption to flights today (Monday) due to strong winds".

Those travelling are urged to check the live status of their flight .

Flight Radar 24, which monitors air traffic live, said an average of 30 minutes of delays are expected for flights departing from the airport.

Victoria Train Station

The Gatwick Express from Victoria station is experiencing delays and the service is running at a slower speed until at least 5pm due to high speed winds.

Commuters travelling to and from Brighton should also expect severe delays, as announced by Network Rail until early afternoon.

Paddington Station

Services at Paddington station are running on time apart from trains to Cardiff Central in the afternoon which have been cancelled.
