A man was taken to hospital following a "serious assault" in which two strangers attacked him with a stun gun, in front of his own house.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the incident at 9.15am on Thursday, June 15, in Ventnor Avenue in Stanmore.

According to the force: "The victim was approached on his front door step by two unknown males who assaulted him using a stun gun."

The man in his 40s was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries and has since been discharged, however remains "extremely shaken" by the incident.

Two suspects have both been described as black males of slim build and in their late 20s.

The pair reportedly fled the scene and were last spotted running towards Weston Drive.

Police have launched an appeal and urge anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any information to come forward.
