Split picture in Westminster North and Cities of London & Westminster as both Tory and Labour retain seats

It is a split picture in Westminster and the Cities of London as both the Conservative Party and the Labour Party retain their seats.

Mark Field of the Conservative Party held his seat in the Cities of London & Westminster constituency, winning 18,005 votes.

Falling 3,148 short of that was Ibrahim Dogus of the Labour Party winning 14,857 votes, with 4,270 votes being counted for Liberal Democrat candidate, Bridget Fox.

Lawrence McNally of the Green Party won 821 votes, with UKIP's Anil Bhatti winning 426.

It was Labour's evening in the Westminster North constituency, with Karen Buck retaining her seat, winning 25,934, 11,512 higher than the second highest scoring party.

Lindsey Hall of the Conservative Party won 14,422 votes, Alex Harding of the Liberal Democrats won 2,253, with Green Party's Emmanuelle Tandy winning 595 votes.

Posting on Twitter, Westminster Council announced the voting turnout in the two constituencies.

Turnout for Westminster North was 68.11%, and in Cities of London & Westminster it was 63.03%.
