Homeowners in Kensington and Hammersmith raked in £230,000 last year from renting out their car parking spaces.

Figures, revealed by the JustPark website, also show an expected boost for its customers in the area this week (June 15-21) as the Aegon Tennis Championship take place at Queen’s Club in West Kensington.

The company, which allows homeowners to list their driveways as bookable parking spaces, says it has experienced a surge in sign-ups in the area ahead of the traditional Wimbledon warm-up, with local homeowners expected to earn over £10,000 over the course of the tournament.

It said driveways near Queen’s Club, which has no on-site parking, will make an average of £15 each per day, with many spaces closer to the club earning homeowners as much as £30 per day.

“Parking in London is expensive and hard to find at the best of times, but for the many sports fans trying to find parking on busy match days, the situation can become near impossible,” said JustPark founder, Anthony Eskinazi.

“By letting drivers pre-book a space on a local driveway, JustPark offers a win-win solution. It not only eliminates the stress of parking for drivers, but also lets homeowners make a second income by renting out their space.”
