Police have said that a 73-year-old man was killed in after being hit by a lorry in Southall on Monday (June 19).

Metropolitan Police Officers, London's Air Ambulance and the London Fire Brigade were called to the incident in Avenue Road at 8.55am .

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene and there were no arrests.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged and an inquest will be opened at West London Coroner's Court.

The man's next of kin has been informed but he has not been formally identified.
