Trains in Richmond were delayed after police were called over concerns for a woman's safety.

South West Trains tweeted a warning passengers of the disruption at just after 1.30pm on Wednesday (June 28).

Trains ran at a delayed speed until around 2.15pm.

Police officers arrived at Richmond train station after the alarm was raised.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: "We were called at 1.05pm today to Richmond station after concerns for a woman's safety. Officers attended.

"They had no concerns and allowed the woman to continue her journey."

Passengers were advised to check their journey before travelling, as trains were each delayed for around ten minutes during the disruption.
