A man is in hospital after he was stabbed multiple times near a children's play park in South Harrow .

The victim, who is aged in his twenties, was found by emergency services with several stab wounds, in Swift Close, on the Rayners Lane estate near South Harrow station.

Harrow borough detectives are now appealing for witnesses and information about the serious assault, which took place at 2am on Thursday May 18.

The stab victim was taken straight to hospital, where he remains, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

As a result of the incident, there is an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance to the public.

DS Amar Patel from Harrow CID, the lead officer in the case, said: "I am appealing for witnesses who have any information to come forward, so that the people responsible for this unprovoked attack can be apprehended."
