Six months after a father-of-three was gunned down outside his Uxbridge home, police continue to hunt for his killer.

A murder investigation was launched by the Metropolitan Police on February 3 after a man was found in Vine Lane suffering from gun shot wounds.

The 38-year-old victim - later named as Mr El-Ghaidouni - was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 8pm.

Six months on and the investigation to find those responsible for his death remains ongoing.

Speaking exclusively to getwestlondon, investigating officer DCI Noel McHugh, from the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "Six months on from Redwan's murder, the investigation to find his killer(s) is as active as it was on day one, and we remain committed to bringing whoever is responsible to justice.

"I have said before and reiterate again today, that there are people out there who know who did this and they need to come forward and speak to us.

"Redwan had been linked to criminality in the past. I am sure his murder remains widely talked about in criminal circles - I urge those in the know to speak to us in the strictest confidence."

In the days following the shooting, police said they believed it was a "targeted attack".

Neighbours told getwestlondon that they heard the shots - which sounded "like fireworks" - and saw the emergency services arrive at the scene.

Local people spoke of their shock that something so sinister had happened on their doorstep, with one saying: "It's a very quiet area normally. Nothing Like this has ever happened before."

The victim was later identified as Mr El-Ghaidouni, a father-of-three who lived in Vine Lane with his partner and family.

Officers said the victim had been inside his parked car, on the driveway of his home, when he was approached by a lone male suspect who fire a number of shots into the vehicle before making off on foot.

Appealing for information from the public, police said they were investigating the possibility that the shooting was connected to Mr El-Ghaidouni's past.

DCI McHugh said: "He was linked to criminality and had recently served a sentence for drug importation.

"Did someone have a grievance against him related to drugs or other criminality?"

In June, detectives released this e-fit of a man seen near Mr El-Ghaidouni's home shortly before he was shot and killed.

Police offered a £50,000 reward for information to bring the killer to justice.

Mr El-Ghaidouni's partner, Samantha Tait, also appealed for information. She said: "It feels like a nightmare.

"The police have been working tirelessly around the clock, but they need your help, for all his family and his children's sake make that call.

"We desperately seek the truth and to obtain justice for Redwan."
