Devoted fans of Sir Elton John now have the opportunity to purchase his childhood home in Pinner.

The three-bedroom semi-detached house is Still Standing more than six decades since the superstar was born there and spent many of his childhood years in the modest property.

The Rocketman singer was born Reginald Dwight on March 25 1947 at 55 Pinner Hill Road, Pinner.

As Elton John, he has since sold more than 250m records worldwide.

Liam Byrne, property marketing manager at Gibbs Gillespie estate agents who are selling the house, said: “When I got the call to value the house I remembered that Sir Elton John grew up on that road.

“Being a bit of a geek when it comes to local knowledge, it didn’t take me long to realise I was valuing his birthplace and childhood home.

“Walking around the property with the son of the current owner I checked if this was Sir Elton’s former home and he said yes.

“It was where he first showed what a prestigious talent he had for music and given what he went on to achieve it must be one of the most famous childhood homes in the UK if not the World.”

The property is on the market for £525,000.

Current owner Mr Purcell, and his family, have reportedly lived in the house for more than 40 years.

He said that as children he and his brothers would often see Sir Elton fixing up cars or setting off to watch his beloved Watford FC.

Speaking abut the house, Mr Purcell added: “We used to make around £2,000 a year from the house because film crews from around the world, including the USA, Germany and Scandinavia, would pay to film where Sir Elton grew up.

“His old room was mine for a while until my big brother claimed it as his.

"It was a lovely house to grow up in and my dad is only moving due to having a fall and needing closer care.”

The description of the house listing online doesn't reveal anything about the building's exciting past or previous occupant, simply saying: “This three-bedroom semi-detached home is perfect for the growing family seeking a home to put their own stamp on.”
