Shocking footage shows the moment a man lunged across a bar and repeatedly swung a broken glass into a victim's face.

CCTV captured the assault where a male was struck with an empty glass several times at a bar in Leicester Square. The suspect then made off.

Detectives in Westminster are keen to speak to a man in connection with the Be At One bar brawl and have released a video as part of their appeal.

Officers said a man received cuts across his nose and left eyebrow following the attack in the Greek Street bar, shortly after 1.30am on Christmas Eve (Saturday, December 24) last year.

A 38-year-old man told police at the scene that he had been assaulted with a broken glass to his face.

He was taken to a central London hospital to receive treatment for his injuries and later discharged.

Police are appealing for a man in connection with the incident.

He has been described him as dark skinned, in his late 20s, 6ft tall wearing a long sleeved shirt and light coloured trainers.

Detective Constable Edward Colenbrander, from Westminster CID, said: "This is a shocking incident that has left the victim very distressed.

"We are keen to identify his assailant shown in the CCTV footage so we can speak to him about the incident.

"We would also urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us."

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
