A 26-year-old man may lose sight in one eye after a "cowardly" acid attack following a night out.

This CCTV footage shows the moment a man casually walked away after spraying the man with a chemical that caused burn injuries to his face.

The victim was first approached by the suspect, according to the Metropolitan Police , who offered to sell him and his friend nitrous oxide capsules, outside Bounce Bar in Old Street.

Both men declined but got into a heated argument with him.

The men came across the suspect again at around 5.25am on Sunday, September 17, when he sprayed them with a noxious substance.

One of the victims suffered burn injuries to his face and may lose sight in one eye, according to the police, who said they are investigating the '"acid attack".

The victim was forced to go to a local shop to douse his face with water as he waited for London Ambulance Service to arrive.

Paramedics rushed him to an east London hospital and tests continue to ascertain the exact nature of the liquid sprayed.

No arrests have been made and police are continuing to make enquiries.
