Police have issued fresh CCTV stills of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with a rape in Shepherd's Bush last year.

On October 27 last year, two men, who identified themselves as "Mohamed Saif" and "Ahmed", approached the 17-year-old victim and her friend while they were shopping at Westfield.

Police do not know whether those names are the real identities of the men.

The four of them spent some time together, travelling to central London and spending time in the Haymarket area of Westminster, before returning by bus to Shepherd's Bush Green.

The men tried to make the women drink from a bottle of vodka, which they declined.

The two women were then split up by the men at around 3.45am the following morning, with Ahmed forcing the teenage victim towards an entrance to West 12 Shopping Centre where he raped her.

Do you recognise this man?

The two women called police upon returning home, prompting an investigation by the Met's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command.

DC Rebecca Thomas said: "These two men took advantage of the victim and her friend.

"They lured them both into a false sense of security before trying to ply them with alcohol; which the women refused."

The man officers wish to speak to is described as around 5ft 9in tall, of medium build with black spiky hair. He was wearing a dark bomber jacket, blue jeans and light trainers at the time of the incident and spoke in broken English.

DC Thomas added: "I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV to contact police.

"I would also like to speak with anyone who saw him in the company of the other man - who called himself Mohamed Saif - and two women over the course of October 27-28 [2016]."

Anyone with information, or who recognises the man in the CCTV image, is asked to call the Metropolitan Police on 101 or on 020 8733 5009. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
