Firefighters are at the scene of Shepherd's Bush Green where a fire has broken out at a flat next to the Tube station.

They were called at 3.45pm and London Fire Brigade (LFB) initially sent eight fire engines. According to their latest statement there are now 12 fire engines and 80 firefighters at the scene.

Plumes of smoke can be seen billowing into the distance from a tower block, which appears to be on West 12 Shopping Centre, by the green.

Flames can also be seen from several floors of the building.

The nearby Tube station, on the opposite side of Shepherd's Bush Green, has been closed and roads near the area are also being sealed off.

An Air Ambulance was also seen landing at the scene.

Fire over, but some conerns remain unresolved

We’re going to end our coverage of this incident now. Earlier, firefighters worked to put out a huge fire in a block of flats in Shepherd’s Bush Green.

The dramatic sight brought rush hour London to a standstill as onlookers gathers at the police tape, where the surrounding roads were closed, to watch the incident unfold.

Many took striking images and footage from the scene, some of which you can see here.

We had reports that one person was treated by paramedics at the scene, and the sight of the Air Ambulance helicopter landing there was a worrying one.

Of course, we will bring you any updates on this fire and the condition the casualty as soon as we have them.

Good night and take care.
