The O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire has finally reopened - seven months after structural damage to its roof caused it to close for essential repairs.

The famous venue, a Grade II listed building, reopened for the first time this year on Tuesday (July 5) with Band of Horses playing for two nights.

When the venue on Shepherd’s Bush Green closed suddenly shortly before The Courteeners were due to take to the stage in December 2015, it had been hoped it would reopen in the new year.

However, severe problems with the roof were far worse than thought and meant the reopening date was repeatedly put back .

Now, after several disappointments the 2,000-seater hall is back in business and looking forward to welcoming acts including Sturgill Simpson, Suggs and Christopher Cross and His Band in the forthcoming weeks.
