Sewer works are due to take place seven days a week over three months in Chiswick .

Workmen from Thames Water will begin improvement works to protect homes and businesses from flooding on Devonshire Road, from Monday (January 25).

During this time, the road will remain closed to through traffic along a stretch of 11 properties.

Despite the road closure, and essential works taking place, the water company says it will be “business as usual” in the area.

Thames Water project manager Matt Goren said: “We want everyone to know it will be business as usual for the shops on Devonshire Road, who will be trading as normal while we’re improving the sewers.”

“This is a must-do job to protect properties from sewer flooding and we’ll be working seven days a week to get it done as quickly as we can.”
