So much for the start of meteorological summer - grab your umbrella, the rain is on its way.

The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for Friday (June 2) between 1pm and 11pm.

The forecasters warn of a risk of torrential rain, lightning and possibly hail across London.

Brollies at the ready!

The warning says: "There is the risk of torrential downpours on Friday afternoon and evening.

"Whilst most places will miss the worst, it could lead to localised surface water flooding and difficult driving conditions.

"Frequent lightning and perhaps hail could be additional hazards."

Whilst we could experience downpours of rain, it will still be feeling very warm, with highs of 27°C.
