A serial burglar has been jailed for more than three years for targeting homes in Uxbridge.

Daniel McEwen, 21, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday (March 18) for burgling a house in Hinton Road on February 17, having pleaded guilty on the day of the offence.

The judge also took into account another nine burglaries McEwen had committed in the area late last year.

McEwen, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment.

Officers arrested him in a proactive, intelligence-led operation in Uxbridge, on February 19.

Detective Constable Wesley Johnson, of the Metropolitan Police, said: "The swift and strong action taken against McEwen is a clear example of how our policing team works tirelessly to pursue offenders, bring them to justice, protect the community and prevent crime.

“McEwen was given no other option then to plead guilty to the offence as a result of the overwhelmingly strong evidence brought before the courts."
