See how much Hounslow has changed with this nostalgic 'Then and Now' photo gallery

Feltham History Group to host three-part illustrated talk of Feltham and its surrounding areas over the decades

Take a trip down memory lane and see what changes have taken place in parts of Bedfont, Feltham and Hanworth over the years.

From the likes of the now busy stretch of Staines Road in Bedfont by Bell on the Green to Feltham railway station which was opened in 1848 and went under construction in the 1990s, here are five ‘Now & Then’ photos bound to make people feel a little nostalgia.

The photos from the past have been taken from Hounslow Local Studies while the ‘now’ photos were taken by local residents including Roger Cowing, Jacob Barnes and Angela Parton.

Other snaps captured over the decades include the High Street in Feltham; Hanworth crematorium; and Nallhead Road, also in Hanworth.

With the Feltham Masterplan to bring new homes and leisure facilities to the borough shaping the future, and new businesses such as the new brewery Reunion Ales which recently opened its doors in Feltham, a few more decades will bring more change.

To see these and many more ‘Now and Then’ photos the Feltham History Group is holding a three-part illustrated talk on the areas at Feltham Library on Saturday (April 23).

Doors open at 2.30pm and the talks begin at 3pm.
