A second brothel has been closed in the borough of Hounslow in the space of a few days.

A brothel in Syon Lane, Osterley, was closed last Thursday (April 2) - three days after police raided and shut down a suspected brothel in Kingsley Road, Hounslow.

The Osterley brothel was closed by community safety officers from Hounslow Council, with the support of the police and the managing agent of the property.

The council said no arrests had been made and sex workers had been offered help and advice.

A police spokeswoman said the tenants had vacated the two-bed flat above shops, which police had been made aware was being used for prostitution.

A council spokesman said: "Hounslow Council community safety officers, alongside the police, worked with the managing agent of the property to close down the premises as part of our drive to combat people trafficking and sexual exploitation."

In a separate operation, four people were charged with offences - including running a brothel - after police raided premises across Hounslow and Hillingdon on March 30. Those raids led to the closure of a suspected brothel in Kingsley Road, Hounslow.

Police in Hounslow also revealed 20 kerb crawlers have been identified during Operation KerbSafe, which is part of a wider crackdown on prostitution in the borough.
