An image of a man wanted in connection with the robbery of a 79-year-old woman's handbag in Hayes has been released by police.

The elderly woman was walking along an alleyway off Grange Close at 11.20am on September 12 when her handbag was snatched.

The victim was uninjured but her bag contained several items including her bank cards.

Metropolitan Police found the bank cards were used in a couple of shops in Kingshill Avenue between 12pm and 2pm that same day.

The thief is described as a black man, in his late teens to early 20s and 6ft tall.

He was wearing a dark blue coat and dark coloured trousers.

Police released an image of a man understood to have used the bank cards on Friday (November 10).

Officers urge anyone who may recognise him or who may have information about the incident to come forward.
