Police are searching for a schizophrenic man who may be a danger to himself and others, after he absconded from a Southall mental health unit.

42-year-old Orlando Silva has been missing for four days and police have appealed for information about his wherabouts.

Mr Silva absconded at 7pm on Wednesday, January 6, from the facility in Uxbridge Road, Southall , where he was detained under the Mental Health Act.

He is described as a Portuguese national, who is 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build.

He has short, light brown hair and a light brown moustache and goatee beard and was last seen wearing army-style khaki trousers with side pockets, a black jacket and black trainers.

Mr Silva suffers from schizophrenia and with no access to medication may be a danger to himself and others.

Anyone who sees him should not approach him but call police on 999 in an emergency or 101.
