Energy suppliers will compete to provide the cheapest tariff to Londoners next month in a city-wide auction, supported by Ealing.

Residents can sign up to the Big London Energy Switch until October 13, when energy suppliers consider each entry and attempt to improve their current deal.

Everyone who registers will be contacted with their personal offer and they can then decide whether to switch or stay with their current supplier and tariff.

Since the first auction in April 2013, residents have saved £238 each on average on their fuel bills and Cllr Jasbir Anand, Ealing Council's cabinet member for housing, encourages participation.

“This energy switch scheme is the ideal opportunity for customers to compare tariffs and make informed choices to get the best possible fuel savings available in the borough,” she said.

“We are proud of the success of this scheme and I urge anyone wanting to save money on their fuel bills to register before the next auction.”

Collectively, Ealing participants have saved nearly £120,000 on bills since the first auction.

Register online before October 13 to register.
