Commuters using the District line are facing problems during the Friday (May 5) rush hour following a signal failure.

There is no service between Richmond and Turnham Green , say Transport for London (TfL), with minor delays running to Earl’s Court and Ealing Broadway.

The rest of the line is running a good service.

The problem has been caused by a signal failure at Richmond.

TfL say tickets are being accepted on South West Trains and local bus service.

On social media there has been no shortage of people with the hump. One user urger TfL to “sort it out”.

And that is that

With the return of a good service its time to wrap up this blog.

You can read our report of the problems here.

And if you were affected by the issues earlier today, we hope you don’t face any problems getting home later.

Good news

It appears the problem has been resolved. Services resumed at around 8.30am to severe delays, but a quick look at TfL show the line is now operating a good service

Is this an improvement?

I guess it is. The District line Tube status between Richmond and Turnham Green has changed from ‘part-suspended’ to ‘severe delays’

Network Rail comment

Another problem

TfL say this morning’s issues are not connected to an problem which affected services last night

Grrrrrr

No Overground service, but improvements on the Tube

TfL say there is now a good service on the rest of the District line, meaning the minor delays running to Earl’s Court and Ealing Broadway have cleared up.

But there is no Overground service between Richmond and Gunnersbury.

Good morning... or is it?!

It’s not a good morning if you’re affected by the signal failure on the District line
