St Luke's Hospice is celebrating raising more than £6,000 thanks to its Run Wembley fun run on Sunday (May 17).

More than 180 fundraisers took part in the event, at the Sudbury Court Running Club, for the second year running.

Fun runners of all ages and abilities took part in 10k, 5k and 1k runs on a multi-terrain course through Wembley.

Michelle Hurley took part in memory of her boyfriend’s father. She said: "I came in about 56 minutes and was very happy.

“The run was very well-organised and the marshals were a great support and encouragement. I really enjoyed the day.

“My boyfriend’s dad, Michael Kilbane, spent some great memories at St Luke’s and his final days too. The staff where like angels and are amazing at what they do.

“He loved it at the hospice. He said it was like a hotel!”

St Luke's looks after people with cancer and other progressive illnesses, providing support when it is needed most.
