Crowds flocked to Ruislip and stepped back in time to the Middle Ages on Sunday (August 16).

Hillingdon Council's Medfest 2015 was a roaring success with spectators able to watch, taste and take part in medieval culture.

The day featured an authentic programme of medieval entertainments, from horseback jousting to living history re-enactments provided by professional re-enactors.

The Great Barn was full of arts and crafts activities with additional food, a Farmer's Market and artisan stalls from the regular Duck Pond Market.

The fields of Manor Farm, Pinn Way, in Ruislip, came to life with armoured knights battling and medieval music and dancing.

No medieval-themed event would be complete without a hog roast and of course stocks, which were enjoyed by all ages.

The festival was free for all to enjoy and will be back again next year.
