Ruislip police incident: 11-year-old girl taken to hospital after being struck by car near school

An 11-year-old has been taken to a major trauma centre in west London after being struck by a car near Ruislip High School.

The incident happened shortly before 3pm on Friday (September 8) in West End Road.

The girl was treated at the scene for a leg injury by London Ambulance Service before being transferred.

The driver of the Nissan Micra has been assisting police with enquiries and the girl's family are with her at the hospital where she is receiving treatment for her injuries, the Metropolitan Police said.

The road was closed at around 3pm and buses on route E7 were diverted as police dealt with the scene.

The statement from the police said: "Police were called to West End Road, j/w Berkeley Close at just before 3pm on Friday, 8 September to reports of a road traffic collision.

"At the scene, an 11-year-old girl had been in collision with a Nissan Micra car.

"The girl was taken by London Ambulance Service to a west London hospital for treatment to a leg injury.

"Her family has been notified and are with her. We await an update on her condition.

"The driver is assisting police with enquiries.

"Hillingdon police investigate. No arrests. Enquiries are ongoing."

London Ambulance Service said it was called at 2.55pm.

"We sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and an Advanced Paramedic to the scene," a spokesman for the LAS said.

The spokesman said the girl was treated for a leg injury before being taken as a priority to a major trauma centre.

Ruislip High School declined to comment on the incident.
