A woman and her seven-year-old son have been found dead at a home in Ruislip .
The Metropolitan Police said they were called to a property in The Fairway in Ruislip at around 10.50am on Wednesday (December 14).
Officers found the body of a woman in her mid 30s and a seven year old boy.
Police say they believe they know the identity of the woman and child and are in the process of informing their families.
Officers forced entry to the house after welfare concerns were raised for the occupants.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

London Ambulance Service have told getwestlondon they were called shortly before 11am on Wednesday “to reports of an incident at an address in South Ruislip”.

'There's never trouble here...'
The neighbour continued: “It’s very shocking. There’s never trouble here. I’ve been living here for 30 years.
“This is the first time anything life this has happened.”
A neighbour speaks
A resident who lives on the same road spoke to getwestlondon. Asking not to be named, they said: “At about 11am one police car came. I thought it might be a burglary, then lots more police cars came.”

'Tragic events'
Detective Inspector Dave Bolton, from the Homicide and Major Crime, has been speaking. He said: “The investigation is at a very early stage but enquiries so far lead us to believe there is a likelihood that the tragic events that led to the deaths do not involve a third party.”
Just to repeat, police are confident the bodies discovered in Ruislip are that of 37-year-old Sinead Higgins and her son Oisin O’Driscoll.
Formal identification is yet to take place.

Then just a few days later 21-year-old Yasir Beshira died from a gun shot wound in Kilburn. Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
Latest murder probe
Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command have sadly been busy in the west of London over the past few days.
On December 5, Salim Coulter was shot dead as he returned to a car after eating at a restaurant in North End Road, Fulham. They say his killer was lying in wait for him.
Deaths are "unexplained"
The Met statement goes on to say that the deaths are currently being treated as “unexplained”. A post mortem on the woman and boy will take place at Fulham Mortuary on Friday (December 16).
