The inquests into the deaths of a mother and her young son in South Ruislip has been opened by a coroner.

Sinead Higgins, 36, and her seven-year-old son were found dead at their home in The Fairway near South Ruislip station on the morning of Wednesday, December 14.

The Metropolitan Police was called to the scene at around 10.50am after reports of concern for their welfare.

Tragically the mother and son were found dead in the house.

A post mortem examination was held at Uxbridge Mortuary on Friday (December 16) but was unable to determine a cause of death.

The inquests into the deaths were opened and adjourned on Thursday (December 22) at 10am by the assistant coroner Sarah Ormond-Walshe at West London Coroner's Court in Fulham.

Miss Ormond Walshe confirmed identification of Sinead and Oisin.

The inquests have now been adjourned to a later date which has not yet been set by the court.

On Saturday (December 16), the Met said they believe the deaths were a murder and a suicide.
