Officers investigating a Ruislip burglary which saw two people injured have said the search is 'fully active' for four suspects.

Metropolitan Police officers told getwestlondon that although they are going full force to look into the horrifying incident, they are yet to find the culprits responsible.

A man was hit in the head with a piece of concrete by one of the suspects and a second person was hospitalised after being sprayed in the face with an unknown liquid on Thursday night (January 19).

The group of men tried to burgle a property while four people were still inside.

The terrifying incident happened in Victoria Road

A spokesman for the Met said: "The investigation is fully active and we're working on finding them.

"It's a busy area and people would have been around at that time to see what had happened, we urge them to get in touch with us."

Suspects fled in the direction of South Ruislip and have been described as wearing dark clothing, woolly hats, had black scarves covering their faces and drove a dark-coloured vehicle.

One victim 'sprayed in the face with an unknown liquid'

According to the Met Police, the suspects went from room to room demanding gold before leaving empty-handed.

After leaving the house and getting into a getaway vehicle, one of the men spotted a member of the public on the phone and launched a piece of concrete at his head.

The victim, a man in his late 40s, collapsed to the floor and needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

The suspects mounted the pavement in their vehicle and drove their car towards the man, but luckily he was not hit.

Another member of the public was approached and sprayed in the face with an unknown liquid, leaving them in need of hospital treatment, police said.

The second member of the public has since been discharged from hospital.

So far there have been no arrests and police enquiries continue.
