A 13-year-old boy accused of rape and kidnap is due to appear at Hammersmith Magistrates Court on Tuesday May 23.

The young teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with one count of rape of a male under 13, one count of causing or inciting a child under 13 into sexual activity and one count of kidnap.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of raping another young teenage male at a park in Brent.

The victim, a boy aged under 13, was assaulted in Roe Green Park, Kingsbury, at around 9am on Tuesday May 16, police said.

The 13-year-old boy appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Friday May 19 and is due to appear at Hammersmith Magistrates' Court on Tuesday May 23.

Officers from the Met's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command are continuing their investigations.
