A man failed to stop for officers resulting in a police car chase through the streets of the borough

A police car chase has ended in a man wanted for burglary detained by officers in Richmond .

The pursuit through the streets of the borough saw a sought-after male in a silver car taken into police custody.

After the suspect failed to stop, back up was provided by Hounslow Police and officers from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command team.

The man was wanted by the force in connection with a burglary offence.

Richmond Police posted a message on Twitter just before 6am on Wednesday (September 27).

They wrote: "Officers have pursued and detained a male wanted for burglary with assistance MPSHounslow MPSRTPC after failing to stop."

The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for further information.

Crime can be reported to the police via 101 or in an emergency call 999.
