A new survey has revealed that eating and drinking while driving is frequent among London drivers.

From neglecting to wear seatbelts to personal grooming on-the-go, survey participants dished the dirt on their worst driving habits - and the results of the survey show that many of London's motorists will throw out the road safety rulebook to multi-task on the motorway.

A study of British driver’s bad habits by car finance website, The Car Loan Warehouse, found that 37.3% of Londoners eat and drink en route to their destination.

Almost a third of London drivers admitted to speeding, while 24.1% said they are guilty of driving while they're tired.

Most shocking of all, however, was that of those surveyed, 12% confessed that they text and drive and almost 10% said they regularly neglect wearing a seatbelt while they drive.

Apparently trying to spruce yourself is necessary while driving, with 7.2% of Londoners revealing that they partake in 'personal grooming' while behind the wheel.

The results of this survey suggest that many of London’s drivers would perhaps rather make their journeys as ‘efficient’ as possible than keep their eyes on the road.

This news comes as Think! published its road safety 2014 road casualties results on Thursday (September 24), showing 1,775 people died on Britain's roads last year alone, an increase from 2013.

According to Think!, this is the first rise in fatalities over the calendar years since 2003 and also the first rise in seriously injured casualties sine 1994.
