London’s Air Ambulance has revealed the west London postcodes where the most emergency incidents occurred in 2015.
According to the figures, not only was Westminster the busiest borough in west London, but the busiest in the capital, with 115 patients treated last year.
A total of 32 patients were treated in the W2 postcode alone.
In response to the figures, Andy Slaughter , MP for Hammersmith said: “London’s Air Ambulance is a vital and life-saving service that benefits both my constituents in Hammersmith and Londoners in general.
“The Mission Map is an excellent method of showing just how important the work of London’s Air Ambulance is.”
The charity, that delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London, said they treated a total of 1,826 patients in 2015 and is hoping to raise awareness of the work they do 24/7.
Of the 1,826 patients treated, injuries included road traffic collisions (33%), stabbing and shootings (29%) and falls (24%).
The G-LNDN registered MD902 Explorer is available to deliver its advanced trauma team to critically injured patients and became operational in time to cover for the charity’s first helicopter (G-EHMS) when it went offline for its annual maintenance.
