The jury a the Hyde Park murder trial has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict.

Homeless Hani Khalaf, will face a retrial after the Old Bailey jury was dismissed by Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC on Tuesday (February 28).

Jairo Medina Medina's body was found near the mosaic to commemorate The Reformers' Tree in Hyde Park on August 12 2016 by a groundsman on his way to work.

During the trial, Mr Medina was described by his former partner as “a carefree and very generous person”.

Mr Medina was found dead in the early hours of August 12, 2016

Khalaf, 22, who denies murder, faces a retrial on a date to be fixed.
