Retail giant Argos launches Christmas recruitment drive with more than 10,000 job vacancies to fill

Argos have launched a huge recruitment drive with multiple vacancies across west London

It may only be September but if you are hoping to find a job for the festive period then you are in luck.

Argos is advertising more than 10,000 jobs for temporary Christmas staff to help cope with festive rush.

The high street retailer is hoping to recruit enthusiastic, flexible people to join the team across the festive period, with vacancies in west London.

Roles are temporary and recruits will be offered a minimum of 10 hours per week (minimum of six hours for weekend staff) with the potential for some roles to become permanent at the end of the season.

Around 9,800 customer advisors and stock assistants are being sought to help 800 Argos stores meet customer demand for toys, electricals, video games, jewellery and other popular Christmas gifts.

Argos is also seeking around 1,000 fast track drivers to support its home delivery service.

Steve Carson, director of retail and customer operations at Argos, said: “Christmas is an extremely busy and exciting time of year for Argos with millions of customers visiting our stores over the festive season.

“We’re looking for enthusiastic, friendly and flexible people to deliver the personal service we are known for, whether customers are shopping in-store or buying online for home delivery."

Argos handles around 110 million customer transactions throughout its branch network every year.

It claims 95% of the population live within less than 10 miles of a local store.
