A relentlessly loud Harrow resident who made his neighbours' lives hell for months has had his sound equipment confiscated by the local authority.

R&B fan Mr McCatty, 60, was ordered to pay £650 in court fines in July for playing his music so loud that he damaged his own hearing as well as that of neighbours.

McCatty ended up in court after dozens of neighbours complained about the noise over a 16-month period.

He ignored Harrow council's repeated orders to pipe down.

A hefty fine wasn't enough to deter the loud music lover from repeat offending and on October 6 Harrow council took definitive action and seized McCatty's music equipment from his home.

The snatched equipment included an LAD vinyl player, a wide screen TV and several large speakers.

A Harrow council spokesman said: "Mr McCatty was found to yet again blast out loud music following the fine, so we seized his equipment."
