A record 7,000 runners will be limbering up to take on the Ealing Half Marathon in just under an hour.

The race gets under way from Lammas Park at 9am and will see runners of all levels taking on the 13.1-mile route on closed roads around the borough.

It is a single lap through central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephen’s.

The Ealing Mini Mile, which is also sold out, will start at 9.15am and see young runners aged six to 16 covering a one-mile route around Lammas Park.

Ealing Half Marathon organisers have provided a personal timing chip in every runner's race pack. For those taking part, here's what to do with your chip to ensure an accurate time .

Race Director, Kelvin Walker, said: “We are pleased to announce the sell out of the fourth Ealing Half Marathon and we would like to thank everyone who has been supporting the race, including Ealing Council, our partners, local businesses and residents.

“What sets the Ealing Half Marathon apart from other events and races is the fact that it is organised by a community interest company, with any surplus ploughed back into schools and community events.

“The start field for the 2015 race is looking strong. We would like to encourage everyone to spread the #EalingFeeling, which has contributed to firmly putting our borough on the map as far as high profile running events go.”

The race will be started by the parents and brother of Andrew Carter, who died in hospital after collapsing near the Ealing Half Marathon finish line last year.

Many of Andrew’s family and friends will also be taking part in this year’s race as a tribute to Andrew.
