A boy, believed to be in his 20’s, was shot and killed on Wednesday (March 10) evening in what is believed to have been a drive-by shooting where he was an innocent bystander.

The boy has been named locally as Oliver, however police are yet to formally announce the name of the victim but next of kin have been informed.

The suspect is said to have fled the scene and no arrests have yet been made.

Shocking video footage emerged of what appears to be the victim’s mother, crying: “That’s my son!”.

Residents also relived the terrifying moment they heard the shots fired and talked about what happened.

Residents have described the terrifying moment they heard the “rapid” gun fire which fatally shot the tragic victim yesterday evening.

One witness told getwestlondon: “Someone was crying a lot, it sounded like the mother who was crying with a lot of noise and she was really angry.”

Police: 'Multiple shots fired from high powered weapon'

Detective Inspector Andy George is leading the investigation. He said: “This was a shocking murder with multiple shots fired from what is believed to be a high-powered weapon. My team are undertaking a number of active enquiries to trace the vehicle involved and its passengers. Forensic work at the scene is ongoing.”

The victim

Not much is known about the man that was gunned down, other than he was in his late 20. Police say he is yet to be formally identified and next of kin have not been informed. A post mortem will be scheduled in due course

Police say the gunman is thought to have fled in a vehicle. Officers are still at the scene this morning, near the junction with Conley Road, and have closed the road to carry out investigations.
