A rally against the proposed 32-storey tower to be built at Chiswick Roundabout is set to go ahead.

The building which would alter west London’s skyline has been described as an ‘ugly monstrosity’, by Turnham Green ward councillors who are behind the staged protest planned for Wednesday (January 27) at 7.30pm.

Councillors Peter Thompson, Samantha Davies and Adrian Lee are jointly hosting the rally, followed by a meeting to discuss plans for the skyscraper development, at the Chiswick Memorial Club.

A planning application was submitted on December 21 2015 by Starbones Limited to Hounslow council to build a mixed-use development, on the borders of Brentford and Chiswick, to include 320 new homes, office space and a top-floor viewing platform with spectacular views across west London.

People have until February 1 to have their say on the mixed-use development proposals.

The rally and meeting will be held at Chiswick Memorial Club, Afton House, Bourne Place, Chiswick.

There are also plans to build 95 flats with retail space at Wheatstone House on Chiswick High Road.
