A Westminster sports centre has reopened after a man was stabbed nearby on Wednesday (October 11) .

Emergency services were called to the incident in Portnall Road near Jubilee Sports Centre at around 12.20pm on Wednesday.

They treated a 24-year-old with stab injuries, who was said to be in a critical condition.

London Ambulance Service took the man to hospital and he was confirmed to be in a stable condition on Thursday (October 12) morning.

Jubilee Sports Centre closed following the incident on Wednesday while a police crime scene was in place.

Metropolitan Police lifted the cordon at 5.23pm on Wednesday.

Jubilee Sports Centre confirmed it reopened at 6.30am on Thursday (October 12).

According to police there have been no arrests in connection with the incident.
